Your plans and the group chat

Plans keeps everything you’re going to and everything you host in one place, with a group chat for each activity.

Plans

A dot on the Plans tab means something new has arrived since you last looked.

Reminders

Onzo reminds you 24 hours and 2 hours before every activity you join, never twice for the same one. You can turn reminders off in Me → Privacy & notifications.

The group chat

Each activity has a group chat for the people going. Open it from the activity, or tap Group chat › in Plans.

  1. Tap I’m coming, Running late or I’m here so the others know where you are. Everyone’s status shows in Who’s going.
  2. Type in Message the group and tap Send.
  3. To @mention someone, long-press their message or tap their name. They’re told even if they’ve turned chat notifications off.
  4. Updates from the host also come as notifications.

Only people going, and the crew who help run it (co-hosts and volunteers, who don’t take a place), can see the chat. If someone you’ve blocked writes in it, their message is folded away; tap Show to read it. To report the activity or someone in it, tap ⋯ at the top, then Report. After the activity ends, the chat stays open for 24 hours for thanks, photos and anything left behind (a cancelled activity’s: 24 hours from the cancelling); the chat says until when. Then it’s read-only: you can still read it.

On an activity with separate sessions, each session has its own chat beside the main one (All): tabs at the top show the ones you’re in, with a dot when there’s something new. Your package decides which sessions’ chats you’re in; notifications say which chat a message is in. A session’s chat stays open 24 hours after that session ends, then it’s read-only.

When the activity has ended, its chat stays to look back on: open the activity (tap it in Plans → Past), then its chat. Nobody can send new messages or pin any then.

Pinned messages

The host and co-hosts can pin up to 3 messages to the top of the chat, for example where to meet, with up to 4 photos.

  1. To pin a message: long-press it, then tap Pin to the top. Or tap ⋯ at the top, then New pinned message: write it, add photos if you like, and tap Pin it. The same menu lists the pinned messages. (The photo button next to the message box sends photos with an ordinary message.)
  2. A thin strip at the top shows the newest pinned message. Tap it to see them all, in full, with their photos.
  3. Tap ✕ on the strip to hide it. Tap the pin at the top to see them again; the strip comes back when something new is pinned.
  4. When 3 are pinned, you choose which one to replace. To unpin one, open the pinned messages and tap Unpin. To change one from the host’s side (its words or photos), tap Edit there; it shows edited.

Everyone going is told when a message is pinned.

Plans change

When the host changes the time or place, everyone going gets a notification, and the activity shows What changed. When a date is cancelled you’re told why, and no reminders are sent.
