Stay safe, report and block
Onzo is for verified adults meeting in real life. These tools help you stay comfortable, and our team reviews every report.
Meet safely
- Meet in public places, especially the first time, and tell a friend where you’re going.
- Keep chats in Onzo until you trust someone. Never send money to people you’ve just met.
- Trust your instincts: you can leave any activity at any time.
- In an emergency, call 999 first.
Report something
You can report an activity or a person, including something said in the group chat:
- An activity: open it (or its group chat), tap ⋯, then Report activity.
- A person: open their profile and tap Report.
- As a host: tap the person on your activity’s People screen, then Report. Long-press to select several people and report them together.
Then:
- Choose who or what you’re reporting, and What happened?
- Say Where did it happen?: at the activity, inside Onzo, or outside Onzo (for example on WhatsApp).
- Add details if you like, and up to 3 photos or screenshots of what happened (only our team sees them). Choose whether to also block them.
- Tap Send report.
Reports are confidential: the person isn’t told who reported them. You’ll get a notification when we’ve looked at it.
Block someone
Open their profile (or tap them on your activity’s People screen) and tap Block. When you block someone:
- you won’t see each other’s activities in Discover;
- neither of you can join an activity the other hosts, and if they’re going to something you host, they’re taken off it;
- there are no invites, and in a chat you share their messages are folded away;
- they’re removed from your connections.
They aren’t told. To undo it: Me → Blocked people → Unblock. They won’t know about that either.
Photos and words we check
What you write (chat messages, activity details, your bio) is checked automatically too, after it’s posted. A chat message that clearly breaks the guidelines is hidden until our team has looked at it; others they may remove. Our team decides, not the check alone.
Photos you add (your profile photo, activity photos, chat photos) are checked automatically when you upload them. One that clearly breaks the community guidelines can’t be used, and you’ll see “This photo can’t be used on Onzo”. One that might is posted and looked at by our team, who may remove it; you’ll be told if they do. Photos you add to a report aren’t checked: only our team sees them.
Warnings and paused accounts
If you break the community guidelines, Onzo may send you a warning. You’ll be asked to read it and confirm you understand. Repeated or serious breaches can pause your account.
If your account is paused, you’ll see why when you open Onzo. Think it’s a mistake? Tell us what happened and tap Send appeal; we read every appeal and reply as soon as we can. Your activities are hidden while your account is paused.
